How to measure for bodywear

Girth/Torso – the tape measure is placed at the top of one shoulder, then straight down the front torso, through the legs and straight up the back torso to meet at the starting position to create a circle with the tape measure. The measuring tape should be close to the body but not tight. If you put your finger in between the shoulder and the start and end position of the tape measure the number on the tape measure will be the girth/torso measurement. The girth/torso measurement will always be the largest measurement and should be at least double the waist measurement.

Bust/Chest – the tape measure will make a circle around the upper torso directly underneath the arms and across the fullest part of the bust/chest. The arms will be relaxed and at their side. The tape measure should not be pulled tight. If you put your finger in between the torso and the start and end position of the tape measure the number on the tape measure will be the bust/chest measurement.

Waist – the tape measure will make a circle around the lower torso on top of the hip bone meeting at the belly button. The arms will be relaxed and at their side. Make sure the tape is in a straight line around the torso and is not pulled tight. If you put your finger in between the torso and the start and end position of the tape measure the number on the tape measure will be the waist measurement. The natural waist is the smaller portion of the torso that dips in.
Hip – the tape measure will make a circle around the torso from hip bone to hip bone around the widest point of the backside. The arms will be relaxed and at their side. Make sure the tape is in a straight line around the torso and is not pulled tight. If you put your finger in between the torso and the start and end position of the tape measure the number on the tape measure will be the hip measurement. The hip is below the waist and is typically wider than the waist.

Inseam – the tape measure will start at the bottom of the leg, below the ankle bone, at the point where you would like the pant length to be and extend up the outside of the leg and end at the widest part of top of the leg below the hip. The tape must be straight and pulled tight. The number on the tape measure at the top of the leg will be the inseam measurement.
